September's Currently Smoking Cigar of The Month: Punch Diablo
Punch Diablo, enter the dark side… Coming in hot from IPCPR 2018 Punch delivers its boldest creation to date – Punch Diablo. Punch cigars have been produced in Honduras since their inception in 1960, but when it came time to blend a new, bolder Punch, they turned to none other than AJ Fernandez in Esteli, Nicaragua. The task was to use aged tobacco to create a cigar with strength and bold flavors, complementing the Punch portfolio. They used a bevy of dark tobaccos from four different countries resulting in a bold new creation that is sure to offer full-bodied enthusiasts another reason to love the classic Punch brand.

Punch Diablo, this Nicaraguan-made cigar was crafted by AJ Fernandez in Esteli, Nicaragua, and contains a four-country blend of dark, well-aged tobaccos.
On the surface you’ll find a 4-year-old Ecuador Sumatra Oscuro wrapper which secures Habano Ligero long-fillers from Nicaragua and Honduras, along with a Connecticut Broadleaf binder. This combination of tobaccos delivers a medium to full-bodied experience with an exceptional profile. You can expect a fair amount of spice, balanced by rich notes of oak, espresso, and leather.
Fernandez made the cigar from a four-country blend of tobaccos. The wrapper is from Ecuador, a Sumatra-seed leaf General is calling oscuro. Another dark leaf was used for the binder—broadleaf from the Connecticut River Valley outside of Hartford. The filler is a mix of Nicaraguan and Honduran leaves grown from Cuban seed.
